The Friday Five

The Friday Five this week is:

Five things people usually like, but that I don't.

1. Naps. I always feel as if I've been abducted by aliens, and I walk around fuzzyheaded (inside and out) for about an hour after a nap.

2. Sleeping in. Once I'm awake, that's it. I need to get up.

3. Seafood. My motto is NOTHING FROM THE SEA. Even opening a can of tuna makes me want to ralph.

4. Amusement Parks. Not amusing, and not enough grass to be called a park. I'm more of a museum gal than a Disneyland type.

5. S'mores. Ew.

  1. I'm right there with you on numbers 1, 4, and 5. But I love seafood--well, shellfish (crab, clams, shrimp), but not fish-fish. I was at the grocery store Wednesday and could smell the fish that was out on display in the butcher shop area from three or four aisles away (which means it was time to get rid of it! From everything I've seen/read, when fish is fresh, you shouldn't be able to smell it).

But sleeping in is one of my absolute favorite things to do . . . and I really indulged last weekend, staying in bed until almost 2:30 in the afternoon! Of course, being a night-person really helps in this regard.

S'mores are gross. For me, it's the marshmallow that kills it. Marshmallows are yucky. Just give me the chocolate straight-up, please.

  2. I CANNOT believe you don't like #'s 1 & 2. I would love love love to sleep in--if I ever got the chance, which hasn't happened since the babies were born. Seafood, ick.

  3. Naps. I can't get through the day without a nap. A habit I got into when the girls were little. They outgrew the nap, I didn't.

Sleeping in isn't like it was when I was a 20 something and wouldn't see daylight before 10am, unless Ma was hoovering outside my door to wake me up.

Seafood. Considering that your state is landlocked, if they have to fly it in, it isn't fresh. (-; I love sea food. Especially whole belly fried clams. No oysters though.

Had a good time at the MOA park. But I'm glad your Young One was with my Young One so I didn't have to ride all the really horrible rides.

S'mores. I'm with Kaye. Just give me the chocolate.

  4. You are all weird if you don't like s'mores! Although I could do without the graham cracker, except if you didn't have the graham cracker the chocolate and marshmallow melt through your fingers.

Sleeping LATE---everytime I hear someone say "sleeping in" I think--where else would you sleep--OUT??? I wouldn't mind lolling in bed sleeping LATE--but usually a cat jumps in my face or someone yells for something and I have to get up.

I love tuna and fish sticks.

I loved Disneyland but am not sure I could ride anything now.

  5. #3- That's ok. Leaves more for me! That's why I never want to leave the Gulf region. Good seafood is just too expensive anywhere else.

Kaye, fresh fish always smells, at least all the fresh fish I've ever been around with many family members who fish. When the smell changes is when it's time to get rid of it.

Oh no,I especially like all five! If I ever could take a nap, I would love it. And sleeping in on the weekends. Love seafood (well I do live in the Ocean State!) and s'mores(former Girl Scout, lol) and love, love to go to Disney, even though I don't do the rollercoasters.

And don't get me started on naps. Even sleep! Overrated! And that fuzzy feeling you get when you wake up? My friend says it tastes like you sucked on a nickel. Yuck!
