The First Day of School

Today was our first day of school. Sixth Grade is under control. We remembered things we learned in previous years and we (James) Loves his new typing program.
Tenth grade. A couple of hiccups. (You're reading the work of a woman who forgot to order the teacher's curriculum for Grammar, Science, and History. Fortunately, I'm familiar with our curriculum and was able to 'wing it'. The books are ordered and should be here within the week.) Also, we loaded on Rosetta Stone German. Heather whizzed through the first lesson and scored a 100% on the first test. However, we don't exactly know where to go from here. The program keeps taking us back to the first lesson. We can't seem to get past lesson one. I'm reading the literature, and we'll attack it again tomorrow.
One day down, 169 more to go! :)

  2. The first day is always so much fun. Yum! Congrats to your daughter on 100%.

It's funny you should mention typing. If you come across any good suggestions, please send them my way.

  4. Hey Erica,
Congratulations on the 'launch' of another school year! Hope it's a very good one for you and the kiddos. Stacy used Rosetta Stone Spanish for a couple years, and I don't remember her having an issue like Heather is experiencing. Maybe they accidently sent you a sampler CD. I'll ask Stacy it she has any insight.
Wanted to say a big 'THANK YOU' for all your help before, during and after the wedding. Your help was invaluable that day, and we couldn't have done it with out you, your kids and the rest of the ladies. You have a wonderful servant's heart and we have been completely blessed! I've never really bought into the idea that it takes a village to raise a child, but apparently it takes a village to get one married! The honeymooners arrived home on Monday, and Tiff's posted pics if you're interested.
    Talk soon! And Thanks again!

  5. Sounds like you are off to a great start while we enjoy another MONTH of summer---:)

You can laugh when you stop in April and we plug away another two months.
