Fortune Cookie

Okay, so all last week, every time the UPS truck turned into my neighborhood, my heart jumped a bit. The later it got in the week, the higher my old ticker leapt.
In only a few days, my debut novel will start shipping to readers. And my author copies should arrive any day now. After waiting for so long for this day, now that the shipping week has arrived, I can hardly stand it.
Over the past ten days or so, I've been getting a blog tour for The Bartered Bride scheduled. Thank you to the more than THIRTY folks who are hosting me and my debut novel on their blogs in the upcoming weeks. The day my books arrive I'll get your copies packaged up and sent to you.
After I run around making "SQUEEEE!" sounds for awhile. :)
Yesterday after church, we ran to HyVee to pick up some Chinese food for lunch. When I opened my fortune cookie (And I don't believe in the karma or whatever of fortune cookies. I just get a kick out of them...and they taste good too!) it said "A package of value will arrive soon."
I sure hope so!

  4. Loved the fortune cookie. Remember a watched UPS driver, doesn't drive any faster. (-;

  5. I got a fortune cookie while on vacation once that said "Those around you will be more cooperative than usual." How awesome is that?! It is still stuck on the side of the mirror of the van where I put it that day. Too bad it really doesn't work all that great :)

And no waiting outside today-it's too cold!

  7. Oh, it definitely will. That's a true coinsidence, isn't it!

You've got snow? I'm getting there, just as soon as the gardens are winterized and the pool is completely closed up, I'll be ready for that beautiful white stuff. I absolutely get giddy over snow!!

  11. Lol, Erica. When we had Chinese a a month or two ago, mine said, "You are a lover of words, someday you should write a book." I'm thinking about changing my answer to the question, "Why did you become a writer?" because I think it'd be really fun to say I chose it because of a fortune cookie :)

  13. Jessica, no UPS guy today. Dunno if they were closed for the holiday or not. No squeeing sounds today. :(

Hey, Jody! I'm going to need to Windex the windows to get rid of my fingerprints. :)

  14. Tabitha, I have noticed that my sleep is disturbed. Last night I DREAMED about the truck coming.

CJ, you are so right, and yet it doesn't stop me from watching. Just you wait. He'll come tomorrow while I'm out of town.

  15. Linda, can I borrow that fortune? Tomorrow? Please!?

G-the sesame chicken was yummy! And the fried rice...mmmm.

Eileen, it snowed all day today. Some of it has melted, but there's plenty on the ground. And I still have my flower boxes and hanging baskets up. The geraniums are shivering in shock!

Jeannie, yay, and thank you about the blog tour. :)
