Here's the new cover art for The Marriage Masquerade, sequel to The Bartered Bride. I think it is so beautiful! Absolutely perfect and just what I had envisioned. Thank you to Ashley Shrock, terrific graphic designer at Barbour. She's been so great to work with, she really captured the vision for this story, and she listened to my ideas.
Do you have visions for the cover of your story? Do you have things you like about book covers? Things you don't like?
For me, I'm not a fan of the "headless hero(ine)" covers. They seem to be very popular right now, but they aren't my first preference.
SQUEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! ERica! You didn't tell me last night when we were "chatting" that you got your official cover art! This is GORGEOUS! I loved the cover art for TBB - totally loved it - but I must say, I love this cover art even more. This is beautiful! I can't wait to get my hands on it!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful Erica! I know you must be relieved to have a cover that correlates so well with the last one. Good for you!
ReplyDeleteOooooo, NICE!!!! How beautiful! It looks so peaceful! :)
ReplyDeleteThe cover is gorgeous. And I love the picture of Split Rock Lighthouse. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteOh, I LOVE IT!!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty cover! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis cover is gorgeous! When does the book come out?
ReplyDeleteI'm a huge nature fan, so this one is beautiful in my eyes. I second your dislike for headless pics.
ReplyDeleteNice, Ashley.

What a great cover! You must be thrilled. This will make a great edition to my library!
ReplyDeleteYou're right; it's perfect. I don't know if I can agree with Sherrinda about being peaceful--because I know what's going on in that lighthouse!!!!--but it's a perfect cover. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice. And Wow! your life is on the fast track. :)
ReplyDeleteErica, that's so beautiful. I really like the cover for The Bartered Bride but I almost like this one more. I'm so happy that you like it and it's just what you envisioned.
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful and fits the story perfectly. Can't wait for it!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, Erica--we are on the same topic today! If anyone wants to see an example of headless heroine art, I have some posted on my blog in my cover art quiz. And some people like it, as my commenters explain with some interesting reasons.
ReplyDeleteYour cover is BEAUTIFUL. And it's unusual, which is always a plus with me.
Beautiful! I'm still reading The Bartered Bride and was wondering about a sequel.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone, for the kind comments. I'm so thrilled with this book cover, and I can't wait to hold a copy in my hot little hands!
ReplyDeleteMary, it should be in the February cycle of Heartsongs for 2010.
It's beautiful, Erica. Can't wait to get hold of one. When does this one come out again?
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the headless MC's either. Very weird in my opinion.
Great cover, Erica. You are so right about Ashley. Barbour is doing wonderful work with their covers lately. Diane and I got our new one for February and we absolutely love it! Congrats! Getting ready for "The Engineered Engagement"...
ReplyDeleteOh, it's so nice when it turns out like you imagine! Congratulations :) Can't wait to read it!
