The Friday Five

A couple weeks ago, I posted a list of animals I thought were funny looking. This week, the Friday Five is Five animals who have funny sounding names.

Aardvark

Armadillo. (Say it a few times. It's funny!)

Eel Pout (Popular MN winter fish--there's even a festival)

Toucan (Three Can? One Can? nope, Toucan)

Wombat. As funny looking as funny sounding.

So, anyone have any others?
Happy Friday!

  1. I'm loving that picture of the wombat and also how your mind thinks!

I'm going to go with Gila Monster. Any animal with monster to its name is pretty cool in my book.

I will most likely be thinking of more answers to this question all day. :D

  3. Wendy, Gila Monster is a great one! Cookie Monster, Loch Ness Monster...Gila Monster...Monster is a great word.

Feel free to stop back through the day and post some more! :D

Heather, there were lots of wombat pictures on the web, but that one slayed me!

  8. We have armadillos everywhere down here. My husband likes to pull out the aardvark card when we play a road games involving naming animals.
I've always liked platypus too. :-)

  9. Armadillos aren't so funny when they're digging up the garden. And our fearless spitfire little cat is terrified of them!
