Time to Write!

Time to take a look at those goals....

My only goal this month re writing is to finish the first draft of Light To My Path. I've got a very good start on it, and I'm participating in the NovelTrack writing month through the ACFW. My stated goal there is 30K words for this month which would bring me very close to the end of the novel. Hopefully I can squeeze out a few more words and bring the first draft to a conclusion before August hits.

How about you? Have you set some goals for July? Are you participating in NovelTrack through ACFW?

  1. Polish Noble Efforts to Engulf the Moon and get the first fifty pages of The Partridge Sacrifice clean and tidy before Aug. Aug is the month for one sheets, etc.

Getting excited! Booked my plane ticket yesterday.

I'd not heard about the NovelTrack, but it sounds interesting.

  3. I'm so glad ACFW has started NovelTrack! I wish I could participate this time around, but it didn't seem like the best month. Being due with Connor on the 15th and all...

    Next time around.

  4. I don't know anything about Novel Track since I haven't been on the ACFW site in a long time. My goal for this month is to read 35 grant applications. On the 21st I'll sit on the grant award panel--an all day affair. This is a first for me. This year-and last--my BWG presidency has taken priority over everything--except family. Fun but busy!

Glad your writing is going so well!

  5. Great goals, Erica! I have a few articles to finish up by mid-month, and a Bible study series to wrap up that I've been teaching the past several months. More research for my WIP and hopefully some completed devotionals. God bless!

  6. I didn't know about Novel track. I'd like to start a new story that's been bouncing around my brain but first I feel like I need to finish polishing stories that have already been written. :-)
    Hope you finish your book!

  7. I'm doing Novel Track and it was a great boost to get started. So far I have about 3000 words toward my goal of 25K to finish an adult book for a contest.

On the first day, my laptop burnt up and smoke poured out. I'm hoping a friend's hubby can save what's unsaved on the hard drive!

  8. Yay, Wendy! I can't wait to meet you.

Kelly, so nice of you to drop by the blog, and I'm so glad you're reading the Heartsong Connections blog. NovelTrack is new to the ACFW, and so far the participation has been very enthusiastic.

  9. Steph, yeah, I could see where this might not be the best month to start NovelTrack. :)

Jess, grant applications? Yikes! That sounds so daunting!

Maria! You've got plenty on your plate. Is it hard to keep it all straight between the projects?

  10. Jessica, the siren call of a new project is so strong! Sometimes it's hard to stick with a project to the end.

Donna, yikes on the smoldering laptop! Hope you can salvage the hard drive.
