The Friday Five

This week's Friday Five is brought to you by the letter U.

Four things I like that start with the letter U and one thing I don't.

1. Unwrapping Gifts. :D Timely considering the great gifts I got to unwrap and the great gifts I got to see other folks unwrap in the last couple of weeks.

2. Ugly Fruit. It makes me laugh.

3. Unicorns, I love them, unicorns, I love them....

4. Up. The movie. Balloons, talking dogs, merit badges, giant rainbow-colored birds...what's not to love?

And one thing I don't like that starts with U...

5. Unkindness.

How about you? What do you like and not like that starts with the letter U?

  4. I loved Up. I also love Understanding, Uncles, Ultrasounds (babies), & USMC. I don't care for ultimatums.

  5. Ugly fruit rocks. And unicorns were my fav. as a girl.

    Okay, here goes...
Like: Umbros. My sister passes a lot of her soccer gear down to me. So comfy.
Dislike: Umpires (you know, the yelling, spitting kind).

    Have a great weekend.

    Like
    U - understanding

  7. U?? U is really hard. I guess I like clean Underwear. Well, of course I DO. But it almost sounds like a rarity. It's not a rarity, AND I really like it.

I don't like unanimity because it means someone isn't thinkikng.

  8. One of my favorite U words is ubiquitous and my favorite number is umpteen.

  9. I love the movie Up!! Great one!

    Something I don't like:

    ultra-fit

It's this psycho work out class I used to do that kicked my butt every single time. I didn't like that.

  10. It's always fun to find another writer/blogger. I found you on Twitter. Oh, and about Unicorns - I'm reading The Last Unicorn. Have you read it?
    Have a great weekend!

  11. Great U's! Let's see, I like U the abbreviation, unicorns because if you don't you're a little strange, u-turns, uno the game and uno the candy bar! I too dislike unkind people. ;) Have a great weekend Erica!

  12. Um, back to add, I LOVE USC!

  13. You're getting into some difficult letters, Erica!

    Things I like:
    - ultrasuede (it's such a cleanable fabric!)
    - ukeleles (especially when the children at church play them altogether)
    - the colour of ultramarine blue
    - The Ugly Duckling story
    - the underbrush in our woods (there are ferns galore, little white woodland anemones in the spring, and red current bushes)

Certainly don't like ulcers. My father suffered from stomach ulcers most of his life.

  14. Good Saturday Morning! Yay for so many fun responses. I wondered what it would be like when I hit some of these harder letters. X has me thinking already. :)

Heather - Red Umbrellas are my favorite.

Julie, I like OU as long as they are playing an SEC team. But my heart belongs to the Jayhawks. :D

CJ - I love your Uncial calligraphy! :D

    Lisa - Semper Fi!

Wendy - I had to look up Umbros.

Bonnie - I remember as a kid the first time I heard the concept of Utopia. Even that young I knew it wasn't possible here on earth! But someday, Heaven will be even better than man-made dreams of Utopia. :)

Georgiana - LOL! Yeah, the clean underwear thing should go without saying (though I'm glad you did) and the unanimity statement had me laughing and thinking all day!

Linda, your brother asked me just this week what ubiquitous meant. :)

Katie - Ultra-fit? Yikes! You already ARE ultra-fit!

MT - Thank you for following the blog! I'm so glad you found me via Twitter and that you mentioned it, because I often wonder if anyone is reading my tweets. I haven't read The Last Unicorn. (Adding it to my list to check out.)

T.Anne - Oh, man, I forgot about Uno! We play Uno attack and I am constantly showered with cards from that stupid machine!

Carol, thanks for reminding me about the story of the Ugly Duckling. It's one of my faves!

Blessings, and congrats on writing another book!
