Thankful Thursday

This Thursday I'm thankful for technology. Though I sometimes whine about the speed with which the world seems to be changing, I do love things like electricity, indoor plumbing, automobiles, airplanes, computers (especially laptops,) cell phones, Skype, Blu-Ray, refrigeration, and so much more.

What piece of technology are you particularly thankful for today?

  1. The obvious one, since I'm leaving this comment, would seem to be my computer. However, since I'm reading to review a book about technology and a Christian worldview, I'm going to go way back and say "my Bible." Do you realize, that up until Mr. Guttenberg figured out how to set type, a Bible in the hand of a layman was unheard-of-never-been-done-before-we-can't-do-that and all sorts of other clichéd statements of seeming impossibility. I would never have been able to ascend to my high and mighty pulpit and say to the faces looking up at me, "Open your Bibles to Hezekiah 14." Well, okay, I still can't ascend on high and there is no book of Hezekiah, but you know what I mean!

    So, I'm thankful for printing!

  2. This morning, I'm thankful the electricity held, the sump pumps hummed, and the shop vac su...mopped up the water in the basement.I'd be more thankful if the rain went to Texas or Arizona or some place that really needed it. I and my basement have had enough rain.
